Weaves Of Wonder

There is a certain charm about sarees which never fails to excite me, I believe a saree can make anybody a head turner irrespective of their, age, shape, size and color, its a wardrobe essential for every Indian woman. 

 My love for sarees started at a very young age, I would see my mom draping her exquisite banarasi silks and get lost in its elegance and beauty. Each time I was alone at home, I would sneak into my moms room and help my self with one of her sarees and drape it just like how she used to do it and fail miserably, yet I would stand in front of the mirror, put a bindi on my forehead, color my lips and feel like a princess!

 Saree is the synonym of our rich heritage with references to it dating back to Indus Valley Civilisation, making it the oldest piece of garment existing today! Doesn't this realisation itself makes you wanna wrap yourself in this 9 yard of  art. With its magical ability to keep you cool in summers and warm in winters, one can choose from a variety of fabrics available depending on the occasion and time of the year. Cotton and linens are best suited for summers as the light fabric will let you breathe and silks can help you stay cozy and make you look stunning at the same time to beat chilly winters. One can even opt for chiffons and Georgettes with beautiful prints/embellishments which are easier to drape and have your own Bollywood moment. You would be surprised to know that this single garment can be worn in 80 different styles. But today was all about a casual outing with my girlfriends to a very beautiful cafe in Gurgaon, so I chose to wear this hand wooven cotton saree I bought online for a steal price! 
Summers are the best time to flaunt those cotton and Linen sarees so go ahead and beat the heat with a saree this time 😀

Vacation in Style

Don't we all get excited when we hear the word Holiday/Vacation! But along with the excitement comes the stress of packing. Here is a sneak a peak to my recent holiday in Jaipur and some tips to travel light yet stay stylish. Day 1:  Was dedicated to relaxing and enjoying the hospitality of the beautiful property we were staying at, I chose to wear a bold checkered shirt restyled it into a crop-top with a feminine lace skirt and comfortable sandals. kept the look minimal with no accessories. Winter noon done right

Happy New Year! Well, every year we make new year resolutions like, to get more active, to travel more, to quit certain bad habits etc, so apart from getting fitter my new year resolution for 2018 involves visiting places which have always been on my mind... One such place was ' Agrasen ki Baoli' . To be honest, I loved the pictures my friends had been posting of this beautiful place and I too wanted to do the same. So when my better half (I am the bitter one!) paid me a surprise visit I decided to make the most of it and along with 2 friends we reached this heritage site.
